Original 1986 New Idea Operator's Manual US-224 866 Forage Harvest Pickup TB9
The No. 866 Pickup is designed to do a superior job in today's heavy yielding crops.
Large capacity is built into this attachment, along with dependability. It is equipped with automatic header height control for ease OT operation.
The gauge wheel arms can be "locked" to mechanically float the pickup when the automatic header height control is not is
use.
The windrow is picked up by the teeth on the pickup reel and deposited on the table under the auger at "A". The open-end design at "B" allows material to enter the pickup sides. This is a crop saving advantage in wide, irregular swaths or when opening fields. The auger "C" moves the material to the center of the pickup below the beater
"D" onto the conveyor. The auger floats to handle large bunches of material. The beater
"D" strips the material from the auger and levels it on the conveyor into the chopper.
