Original 1981 New Idea Operator's Manual 517 3 Point Hitch 86" Rotary Snow Blower RS-517 TB9

A tractor of not less than 35 h.p. but not more than 75 h.p. with 1-3/8" P. T.O. should be used with the snow blower. The tractor is to be operated at
540 B. P.M. P.T.O. speed. Live P.T.O. is absolutely essential. The tractor must be equipped with adjustable top link, pin and 3-Quick lock pins for mount-ing.
Note: It is not advisable to mount the No. 517
Blower on Row crop or high arch front axle tractors which usually have higher rear wheels and a higher
P. T.O. center, resulting in too great an angle to the P.T.O. shaft. The operating angle of the P.T.O. shaft should not exceed 20°.
Adiust the tractor hitch so that blower is level, resting on the shoes, with the cutting blade approximately 1/2" clear of the ground.
The Blower is equipped with two shear bolts to help reduce damage from foreign objects entering the machine. The first is a 3/8" × 2"
