Fig. 4 - The outside gathering chains can be adjusted from the outside of the machine. The inside chains are adjusted from the outside and below the machine.
Always lower the safety stand as shown on Page 9,
Figs. 9 & 10, prior to adjusting these chains.
GATHERING CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
All gathering chains should be adjusted to the point where they just stay on the slides. If they are adjusted too tight, undue wear will result to the chain, sprockets and bearings. To adjust them, loosen bolt through sprocket "A" and adjust double nuts on adjusting screw "B" until the tightness described above is attained.
Make sure to retighten sprocket bolt "A" securely. All gathering chains are adjusted in the same manner.
GATHERING CHAIN SPEEDS
All machines are shipped with a 16 tooth drive sprocket at "C"
