The second running of the
$100,000 Hard Scuffle Steeplechase, a Grade I National Steeplechase Association race, is set for Thursday, April 29. The lone event for jumpers on the 1999 Churchill Downs racing schedule has been moved from the final day of the Spring Meet to Derby Week to provide an added attraction on an increasingly popular racing day.
The Thursday card already includes a pair of stakes races on the "flat" in the La Troienne and the Churchill Downs Turf Sprint and it attracted
