The Globetrotters are the only sports team to play under lights in Chicago's famed Wrigley Field, home of baseball's Cubs. There are no lights there and the Trotters brought in a portable system for a night game in 1954.
Appearing where basketball wasn't usually played caused them to keep in storage around the world as many as ten basketball courts complete with back-boards, goals and standards for use on numerous tours.
The Harlem Globetrotters have played in 94 countries on six continents. They are known by peasants and kings, Mid-de America and the Far East. They took an American sport to all corners of the world and were lauded by foreign governments for their countless contributions to international acceptance of bas-ketball.
