had a date today to do some more
listening to what the Chicago Sta-
dium has
to offer in the way of
gainful employment.
"We are
tied up
with Madison
Square
Garden,

Hoffman
said,
"and won't be able to do anything
about any championship
fight of-
fers until the Garden names a suit-
able opponent, or our agreement ex-
pires for lack of one."
Jim Mullen, who, with Nate Lew-
is, does the stadium's matchmaking,
offered Baer two
dates,
April 12
and April 26.
Baer
and
Hoffman
indicated the dates were agreeable,
but put over until today, their de-
cision.
