Truly a gem of a piece! Called the “Portrait of the Kennedy Child” by locals, this photo is of the founder of Rib Lake, Wisconsin’s son (either Donald Angus Kennedy, William G. Kennedy or Elbert Carpenter.
JJ (John J.) Kennedy had the Wisconsin State Legislature create the city in 1885.
JJ Kennedy also founded the Rib Lake Lumber Company with his family. He married His brothers (Angus, Hugh and Daniel) lived in Rib Lake with their families for some time as well.
John J Kennedy married Mary Flora McLennan and had 5 children:
- Donald Angus Kennedy
- Christina “Tina” Maud Kennedy, l/k/a Mrs. Nathan McDougall
- Jeannette Kennedy, l/k/a Mrs. David Moffet Myers
- William G. Kennedy
- Elbert Carpenter Kennedy
Overall great condition for the age. The frame has damage (pictured but could be repaired or replaced). It appears a bug left minor damage at one point over the years as well (see photos).
Measures at approximately 25” x 19”.
