1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers Annual Red/White National Championship Celebration Game Program TH7
TOM OSBORNE, 23RD SEASON HEAD COACH, UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA
The phrase inscribed on Memorial Stadium's northwest corner reads,
"Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sports." And, those words accurately portray Husker Coach Tom Osborne, who in 22 years on the Nebraska sideline has built a total program based on more than just winning.
The veteran Nebraska mentor owns a career record of 219-47-3 for an .820 winning percentage, the best mark among active coaches with at least 10 seasons on the sideline. In 1994, Osborne cemented his place alongside the sport's coaching legends as he added a national championship to his unmatched coaching record. He guided the Huskers to a perfect 13-0 season, capped by a come-from-behind 24-17 win over Miami, Fla., in the Orange Bowl
