1989 Nov. 4 Johns Hopkins Football Program vs. Franklin & Marshall AC8

The 1989 Blue Jays are anxious to rebound from a disappointing 1988 campaign, and Head Coach Jerry Pfeifer feels confident that his team can return to previous form. Ambitions were high for last season, but injuries and inconsistency at several positions prevented an effective offense and resulted in a 1-9 record. For '89, the return of six offensive and eight defensive starters and more quality depth than in recent history give Coach Pfeifer cause for optimism.
Quarterbacks Eric Trenaman and Jay Simons are ready to return the spark to the Blue Jay offense. Running backs Erik Mont and Ken Goldstein are experienced and capable of leading the ground game, the mainstay of the offense. Wide receiver Brandon Rosser (22 catches, 278 yards last season) heads the receiving corps. The ends gain honorable mention all-Centennial Conference offensive guard Frank Gangemi who has moved to tight end.
