1982 Jan 9 - Nebraska Cornhuskers vs Arkansas GameDay Basketball Program TH7
Coach Moe Iba's Cornhuskers play their final nonconference game of the 1981-82 season tonight when the Big Red hosts the nation's No. 11-ranked team, the Arkansas Razorbacks and Coach Eddie Sutton.
The Razorbacks, who went into a Wednesday night home game against Southern Methodist carrying an 8-1 record, figure to be one of the three or four toughest opponents Nebraska faces this year. Sutton returns four of five starters and all but two lettermen from a team which finished 24-8 overall in 1980-81, won its fourth Southwest Conference title in five years, and claimed its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.
The only starter lost was guard U.S. Reed, who was Arkan-sas' No 2 scorer at 13.0 points per game last year, but will be most remembered for a last-second mid-court shot which dethroned defending NCAA champion Louisville 74-73 in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regional
