THE FILLING operation will go more smoothly if you give your blower a thorough inspection prior to filling and follow recommended procedures during filling.
Here are some suggestions that
will help:
1. Check grain for proper moisture before harvest-ing.
It doesn't pay to guess at the moisture percentage when a Harvestore-full of grain is at stake.
An electrical moisture tester will
tell you exactly what the moisture percentage of your grain is.
Or take it to your local
elevator for testing.
2. Check blower pipes for leaks.
If you use a
blower to elevate grain into the structure, check the pipe for cracks or leaks; look especially close around the filler pipe con-nections.
Leaks waste power.
3. Open filler doors. Make sure both filler doors are open to relieve pressure when blowing material into the structure.
