1953 General Motors Locomotives On The Road Trouble Shooting Manual TG6
This booklet has been written principally around the 1500 HP Road Switching locomotive, Model GP7, to acquaint the Operator with those minor troubles which may be encountered on-the-road.
The material presented herein will serve as a reminder, or check list, for qualified operating personnel. If the reader will consider the differences in the arrangement of the equipment, a large amount of this information will be found equally applicable to other EMD loco-motives. Detailed explanations and infrequent causes of trouble have been omitted in order to focus attention on the quickly remedied troubles.
Since this booklet is not a manual no attempt has been made to thoroughly explain the general operation and function of the various pieces of equipment on the locomotive.
For further information
please refer to the GP? Engineman's Operating Manual, No. 2312.
