HEINZ COMPANY, with an experience of 64 years in the preparation of food products, has created and assembled replicas of period kitchens of various lands as an appropriate contribution to the Century of Progress Exposition. They show the advance in one of the most important of human endeavors, the preparation of wholesome and flavorful food. These replicas are complete and accurate, using authoritative reproductions of historic interest and educational value.
In the kitchens of '69, the good wives scorched themselves while they cooked their food over a clumsy cast-iron stove. They put up their own ketchup, preserves, jellies and pickles, laboring ceaselessly from dawn to dark, shifting pots and pans over heat that could not be regulated.
