This WARRANTY does not mean that a piano must stay in tune.
It is a scientific impossibility and contrary to nature's laws, so long as strings are
used in piano construction.
A piano may be in perfect tune one minute, and
five minutes later should a warm or cold draught of air strike it suddenly,
"the strings will stretch or captract, and throw the instrument out of tune.
The science and art of man cannot control the Laws of Nature, therefore a
piano cannot be made to remain in tune.

Neither does it mean that your
Dampness will cause this. It does not mean
that varnish work will not crack.
Both heat and DAMPNEsS will cause this.
Varnish is but a temporary covering for wood work.
Nor does it mean that
the keys will not occasionally stick.
Both rainy weather and dust will cause
this trouble.
No amount of care will prevent it. But it is easily corrected.
This Guarantee covers any defect in the construction of the instrument,
such as cracking of the iron frame,
cracking and warping
of the case,
springing of the sounding board, twisting or splitting of the wrest block,
(tuning pin block); all of which would be defects in the construction of a
piano, provided the piano has not been exposed to over heat or dampmess, or
from standing at an open window so that the sun could strike it.
The presence of rust on the metal part of a piano, is solute proof that
the instrument has been effected by dampness, and in such a case we will
not be responsible for damage to the interior or exterior of the piano result-
ing therefrom.
