Accor ing to one account the insurgents, upon whom various restrictions had be placed by Gen. Merritt, mutinied at not being permitted to have any share the surrender of the city. It is reported that they attacked the Americans the trenches.
The officers of the German warship Kaiserin Augusta are un
instructions to give no information about the bombardment, but it is ire stated that there was a great loss of life on both sides.
Senor Jose de Navarro, the Spanish consul here, intimated officially to. to United States Consul Wildman that Manila fell on Saturday.
